Len Bunton, President, CAC Interviews Matthew Garratt
Matthew is commercial director for Dalkia Engineering, a technical services contractor based in the UK. He has held previous commercial director roles with Costain working on the delivery of major UK infrastructure projects, and NG Bailey another M&E contractor. Matthew is a NEC Contract Board member and joined the NEC Panel (as it was) in 2005. Dalkia signed the Conflict Avoidance Pledge in 2024.
The discussion will focus on the importance of the Conflict Avoidance Pledge which encourages early intervention to avoid issues on construction projects escalating into disputes will also consider the impact that conflict avoidance can have on ongoing problems with payment and cash flow in the UK construction industry.
Matthew will discuss the reasons why Dalkia signed, and support, the Conflict Avoidance Pledge and the importance of collaboration and cooperation in the UK industry.
The discussion will also highlight the forthcoming CAC Conference to be held in London on 16 September 2026.
